The SOGON family is in deep shock following the transition of our esteemed elder and immediate past President, Dr. Habib Sadauki, following a brief illness. His remains have been interred in Kano in accordance with Islamic tradition.
Dr. Sadauki had been a long-standing very active SOGON member and Executive Officer before assuming the position of President of the organization. He served meritoriously as our President from November 2020 to November 2023. His tenure was very eventful, and he recorded many achievements including but not limited to acquisition of two buildings for SOGON in Abuja; initiation and execution of many development projects with Partners; Chairmanship and membership of several Governmental and Non-governmental Committees in the areas of women’s health. His service followed a strong tradition of transparency and accountability.
Dr Habib Sadauki was an amiable gentleman. He was very accessible and made lasting friendship with many. His professional life was very impressive as he served in many senior government, non-governmental positions as well as in private medical practice.
He was highly adored as a trainer, undergraduate and postgraduate examiner and mentor. He will be remembered for his efforts and achievements in bringing forward a formidable generation of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in Nigeria.
His influence extended beyond SOGON and the medical profession and he remains highly revered Nationally and Internationally.
On behalf of SOGON Executive Council, Executive Committee and entire SOGON membership, I wish to express deep condolences to his family. May Allah give them the strength to bear the irreparable loss and give our past President eternal rest.
